St. Joseph School Music Ministry Shines at Maryknoll Choral Festival

On March 5, 2026, the St. Joseph School Music Ministry of Hilo proudly participated for the first time in the Choral Festival held at Maryknoll School in Honolulu. Representing our school with grace and musical excellence were juniors Goretti Allen and Olga Arianoff, along with Zoe Sandowski, Sarina Pascua, and Yaeko Arianoff.
The ministry performed two beautiful selections, “Gentle Mother” and “Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God.” Their voices blended in moving harmonies that resonated throughout the gymnasium, creating a reverent and uplifting atmosphere for all in attendance. The arrangement was student-led by Olga Arianoff, who also served as the soloist, guiding the group with confidence and artistry.
Adding to the performance was choreography support from St. Joseph School alumna Jackie Johnson, whose guidance helped bring a graceful visual element to the ministry’s presentation.
The singers were accompanied by Head of School Kumu Kipapa, and Mrs. Villena, Campus Minister, who helped guide the students throughout their preparation and performance.
Our Cardinal ʻohana from all over also showed their support as they watched the livestream of the festival. Back home, fellow student Cardinals cheered proudly for their classmates, celebrating the way they represented St. Joseph School with heart, faith, and humility.
A special mahalo goes to Mrs. Arianoff and Mrs. Villena for preparing the beautiful costumes and leis that added a vibrant and meaningful touch to the performance.
Through their dedication, teamwork, and faith-filled music, the St. Joseph School Music Ministry represented our school community brightly. Their voices and spirit were a true reflection of the talent, faith, and unity of St. Joseph School.
