Hawaiki Atua

St. Joseph School, along with peers from other Hawaii high schools, engage in a two-week cultural leadership program. Through meaningful discussions and hands-on activities, they explore topics like world peace, building healthy communities, and fostering cultural understanding.

Ivan Lui-Kwan (SJS c/o ʻ63), is the head of Hawaiki Atua. for our students. A Native Hawaiian, Mr. Lui-Kwan is managing member of Hokukahu, LLC. Hokukahu is the for profit subsidiary of Hokupili Foundation, the native Hawaiian nonprofit organization which serves approximately 60,000 residents of the Hawaiian Homelands communities in Hawaii. Hokupili’s mission is to create economic opportunity and capacity building for native Hawaiians. Hawaiki Atua is an extension of his philanthropy outreach to strengthen the relationship of the Kiingitanga and Hawaiʻi. The Hawaiki Atua Youth Leadership Program is specifically designed to offer cultural and leadership development of which our school is extremely proud to be a part of.

Building Future Christ Ambassadors!

Our mission is to equip young minds and hearts with the spiritual, academic, and moral tools they need to navigate the complexities of this world. We believe that a strong foundation in faith is essential—not only to resist the forces of evil but to live boldly and righteously for the sake of the Gospel.

Our students graduate not just academically prepared, but spiritually grounded. They leave our school with the confidence, character, and conviction to overcome life’s challenges and to lead lives of purpose and integrity.

Above all, we hold fast to this guiding principle: “Seek first the kingdom of God.” This is not just a verse—it is our daily priority and the cornerstone of everything we do.
