SJS Students Explore Future Opportunities at Construction Career Day

February 23, 2026

On Thursday, February 19, 2026, three high school students from St. Joseph School participated in the Hawaii Island Construction Career Day held at the Hilo Civic Auditorium.

The annual event brought together students and industry professionals to highlight the wide range of career opportunities available in the construction trades. Throughout the day, SJS students explored various fields within the industry, gaining valuable insight into professions such as carpentry, electrical work, heavy equipment operation, engineering, and more.

One of the most exciting aspects of the experience was the opportunity for students to engage in hands-on activities, including operating heavy equipment under professional supervision. These interactive demonstrations allowed students to step outside the classroom and experience real-world applications of skills used in the construction industry.

Overall, the event provided a meaningful and educational experience for our students. By participating in opportunities like Construction Career Day, SJS continues to support career exploration and hands-on learning that helps prepare students for their future paths.

Go Cardinals!
