2026 Japan Wizards Competition

The Japan Wizard Competition lit up University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa on Saturday, February 21 at 9 a.m. with energy and excitement!
Datura, Tony, and Samuel proudly represented Team B, competing against six other private schools in a fast-paced challenge covering Japanese politics, history, language, contemporary culture, anime, and more. They also immersed themselves in hands-on cultural experiences like Hanafuda, origami, and marita, plus explored a mini college fair featuring 10 Japanese universities.
To boost their score, the team even created a video in advance—talk about dedication! The stakes were high: top teams could win award trips, and any team scoring at least 120 points entered a special shuffle for a free trip to Japan. The atmosphere was intense and serious, but our students rose to the challenge with incredible teamwork and determination.
The moment the competition ended, they were already talking about next year! With St. Joseph School having won twice before, the spirit is strong. We can do it—Go Cardinals!
