Japanese Class Gets Hands-On with Takoyaki!
December 15, 2025
Our Japanese class had a blast making Takoyaki, a popular snack originally from Osaka, Japan. (Fun fact: tako means octopus and yaki means fry!)
Students worked hard to earn this special treat, learning every step of the process—from preparing the batter and adding the octopus to expertly flipping the mixture to form perfectly round balls. Once cooked, they decorated their Takoyaki with savory sauce and a drizzle of mayonnaise, creating a delicious and authentic snack.
It was a fun, hands-on experience that brought Japanese culture to life—and now our students are energized and ready to tackle their midterms!
