On Thursday, February 22 students in grades 9 - 12 attended the 2024 Hawaiʻi Construction Career Day at the Hoʻolulu Complex in Hilo. This event was sponsored by the Hawaiʻi State Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration and industry stakeholders. It allowed our students to gain insight into career opportunities in the multi-faceted construction industry.

Students rotated through areas: 1) heavy equipment and 2) educational/industry exhibits. Exhibits included hands-on activities and access to professionals in the field. Students learned about a wide range of careers in construction, trades, engineering, architecture, and STEM construction-related professions.
