7th and 8th Grade Science Fair

For the past two months, our seventh and eighth graders have been working on science projects. Each student had to complete a project on a topic that they chose. On January10, they displayed their projects to be judged by a panel of teachers, parents, and community members. 

CONGRATULATIONS TO:

1st Place  - Jerry - "What are the Effects of Air Fresheners on Plant Growth?" 

2nd Place - Sofia - "Can fertilizer made at home from used coffee grounds grow vegetable plants that are equal in size compared to plants given chemical (store bought) fertilizer? Can coffee grounds help plants to better protect themselves against insect attack compared to chemical fertilizer?"

3rd Place - Teddy - "Basketball Shooting Machine"

Honorable Mentions:

  • "Ground Erosion" by Uriah
  • "The Effect of Low-Fidelity Music on Heart Rate and Blood Pressure" by Noah
  • "How Different Drinks Stain Your Teeth" by Brayden
  • "The Refractive Index in Different Materials" by Samuel

The above mentioned projects will be representing St. Joseph School at the District Science Fair. 

All projects will be on display in the student lounge at our Open House event on January 28 from 1:00 - 3:00p. We invite you to come view the students' work!
