DID YOU KNOW?
The "Twelve Days of Christmas" refers to the days following December 25. It is the period of time between the birth of Jesus and the coming of the Magi, or three wisemen.
It is believed that it took the magi twelve days, the last six of the old year and the first six of the new year, following the star of Bethlehem, before they were able to present their gifts of gold, frankenscence and myrrh to baby Jesus and recognized Him as the son of God. This day is known as the Epiphany
According to tradition, your christmas tree should be kept up until twelve days after Christmas. The Christmas season ends on the Epiphany, which is celebrated on January 6.
