ELEMENTARY
St. Joseph School Elementary Division faithfully serves children from kindergarten through sixth grade in a nurturing community founded on Catholic values. St. Joseph School Elementary students learn in a safe and disciplined environment, to care for themselves and others and to accept responsibility for making a just and loving society through the generous use of their personal talents and gifts.

Exceptional Academic Performance
At St. Joseph, 90% of our student body scores 20% above the national average and 10% above the district average on standardized tests. Our strong moral foundation and disciplined learning environment empower students to thrive academically, preparing them for lifelong success.

"I Go to College" Program
Each year, our 5th graders attend the prestigious "I Go to College" program alongside fellow 5th grade students from Hawai‘i Catholic Schools. Hosted annually by Chaminade University, the event encourages young learners to dream big and envision a future in higher education. The day concludes with a special graduation ceremony, where students receive a symbolic diploma celebrating their aspirations.

Cardinal Support Hub
Our Cardinal Support Hub is available to all Title I eligible students, offering targeted supplemental support in math and English. This dedicated program helps students who need extra resources reach grade-level proficiency and build a strong academic foundation.
Support sessions are held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. (No sessions on Wednesdays.)

A Year in the Life of a Cardinal
At the beginning of the school year, we host a Parent Orientation to give families the opportunity to meet their child’s teachers and get familiar with the classroom environment. It’s a valuable time to learn about expectations, curriculum, and how we can partner together to support your child’s success.

Each year, our students participate in a festive Halloween Parade, proudly showing off their costumes as they parade around campus. A special highlight of the event is receiving treats and encouragement from their high school brothers and sisters, making it a fun and memorable tradition for all ages!

Our students and their families come together each year for Family Picnic Day, a joyful event that brings our school community together for fellowship, fun, and connection. Families enjoy a relaxing day on campus filled with food, games, and engaging field activities for all ages.

Each year, all of our students come together to present a spectacular Christmas Concert in the school gym, celebrating the joy and spirit of the season. Families are invited to enjoy this heartwarming tradition, filled with music, festive performances, and unforgettable holiday cheer. It’s truly a sight to see!

To close out the school year, our elementary students take part in a beautiful May Day celebration, featuring traditional hula and other cultural dances. This cherished event honors Hawaiian heritage and showcases the hard work and spirit of our students through music, movement, and aloha.
